Tim Pasch, spokesperson of the Volt council group, is leaving local politics and moving abroad for work. For more than two years, Pasch represented the Volt council group and made a significant contribution to the formation and work of the progressive coalition with the Greens and the SPD.
Pasch:
“With Volt on Münster city council, the coalition has been able to take groundbreaking decisions for the city’s future. Over the past two years, we have succeeded in tackling and advancing issues in the areas of climate, digitalisation and transport.”
Martin Grewer will take Pasch’s place on the council. Grewer has previously been active as a member of the Münster-Mitte district council (Bezirksvertretung) and as transport policy spokesperson of the Volt council group.
Grewer:
“If Münster is serious about its goal of climate neutrality by 2030, the course must be set today. Not only in strategies and master plans, but also in practice.”
Grewer is one of the most committed advocates of the transport transition in Münster and focuses on the sustainable financing of climate-friendly and people-friendly mobility for Münster. Among other things, Grewer also played a leading role in drawing up the new plans for parking management.
Volt councillor Helene Goldbeck remains active as spokesperson for planning and schools and is taking on the role of spokesperson for the council group. Her particular focus is on linking Münster with other European municipalities in order to give Europe a stronger profile in Münster.
Goldbeck:
“We want to make use of the opportunities that Europe offers us by implementing the Professionals Office that we initiated, thereby helping, among other things, to tackle the shortage of skilled workers. Another option is to strengthen Erasmus+ at our schools and nurseries – the opportunity for European exchange should become a matter of course.”
