Even though the originally planned opening date has now had to be postponed to early 2024, it was impressive to see how much hands-on work and pragmatism the B-Side team is putting into preparing for the opening.
During the tour, many of the projects that will find a home in the socio-cultural neighbourhood centre in future were also discussed.
Helene Goldbeck, spokesperson of the Volt council group, explains: “The overall concept is coherent and will enrich not only the neighbourhood but Münster as a whole. Personally, I particularly liked the concept of the open workshops being created. They will give interested people the opportunity to try their hand at crafts under expert guidance and, above all, will encourage people to repair broken items themselves – something that all too often still fails for lack of suitable premises and equipment.”
Kerim Kocakoc, culture policy spokesperson, adds: “The close proximity of creative people that is being created here will enrich Münster’s cultural scene. Together with the planned exhibition spaces and the event venue, I am looking forward to the many different opportunities to take part in creative work – whether on a spontaneous visit or at a planned event.”
