Regional Plan 2023: for a future-proof Münster

In order to meet both the need for affordable housing and the challenges we face as a result of the climate crisis and species extinction, the coalition has tabled an amendment to the Regional Plan 2023.

In it, we call for important biotopes and sites that are protected or worthy of protection to be preserved as adaptation areas, so that future generations, too, can lead healthy lives in our city with a good quality of life.

Specifically, this means that the coalition is calling for a small number of areas that the city would like to designate as building land to be (still) designated as protected green spaces, so that a climate-friendly and healthy life in our city will still be possible in 2040.

We expressly emphasise that this motion demonstrably does NOT slow down urban and housing development! In doing so, we are acting in line with our responsibility towards future generations.

This is the only way to make Münster fit for the future!
